I would add All for the Boss by Ruchama Shain - a warm, compelling and inspiring family memoir that really takes you into the 1920's and 30's in NY! You really get to know the Hermans and the time period. Also They Called Him Mike by Yonoson Rosenblum - to quote from the cover, it's about "His Era, Hatzalah, and the birth of an american orthodoxy" - the early 20's in America, Pirchei, etc - it's also a fascinating, inspiring read!
